Who we are
We are a community-led organisation dedicated to supporting socially and economically disadvantaged communities in Manchester, with a particular focus on the Owerri community. Our work centres on developing the skills and confidence of our members so that they are better able to identify and meet their needs, while playing an active role in society.
We also place strong emphasis on improving the lives of young people by offering educational, cultural, and recreational opportunities that promote social inclusion, personal growth, and responsible citizenship.
Our Approach
Our Mission
Our mission is to support children, young people, and families within the Manchester community, particularly those facing disadvantage, by helping them gain skills, confidence, and opportunities to participate fully in society.
Our Vision

Youth Empowerment: Supporting young people to develop practical skills, confidence, and leadership abilities through mentorship and structured opportunities, enabling them to play an active role in society.
Community Integration: Encouraging inclusivity and collaboration by creating opportunities for members to connect with the wider Manchester community, strengthening mutual understanding and social cohesion.
Our Commitment to Community
At Owerri Indigenous Association Manchester, our commitment is rooted in service. We exist to support socially and economically disadvantaged members of the community, creating spaces where people can build confidence, develop practical skills, and access opportunities to improve their quality of life. We believe that everyone should have the chance to participate fully in society. Through cultural events, youth programmes, family activities, and community-led initiatives, we aim to reduce isolation, strengthen connections, and inspire positive change across Manchester and the wider North West.
